Vorkommen
Vindolin ist eines der mengenmΓ€Γig wichtigeren Alkaloide in der Rosafarbenen Catharanthe, einer Pflanze aus Madagaskar, die ΓΌber 100 verschiedene Alkaloide bildet.cite-ref-0-3-0[3]cite-ref-4[4] Vindolin ist auΓerdem ein Strukturelement des Alkaloids Vinblastin, das in der gleichen Pflanze in geringen Mengen vorkommt.cite-ref-0-3-1[3]
Biosynthese
Die Biosynthese verlΓ€uft ΓΌber Strictosidin, das aus Secologanin und Tryptamin gebildet wird. Strictosidin wiederum wird in Tabersonin und von dort ΓΌber sieben Schritte in Vindolin umgewandelt. Strictosidin ist auch der VorlΓ€ufer von Catharanthin, das neben Vindolin die zweite Komponente in Vinblastin und Vincristin ist.cite-ref-5[5]
